How to Shorten Links or Web Site Addresses

If you have a URL (internet address) that is very long and you want to post it, it will most likely stretch the HTML table and result in a horizontal scrollbar which makes reading the thread annoying. The reason for this is, that URLs do not contain any spaces where the text could be broken to a new line. So the browser thinks it is all one word and displayes it in one line.

If you want to avoid this problem, you cannot just copy and paste the URL ...

To help prevent broken quotes on the board, the following information may be helpful.

There are two types of quotes:

(1) A general quote.
(2) A quote including the user name who is being quoted.

One would think that they both work exactly the same way, but unfortunately they don't. The following two posts will explain the "how to's" of the two types of quotes.
